Olima (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Olima mobile application and website (app.olima.ai, olima.ai). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

  • Topics you explore (e.g., “music”, “cinema”)
  • Celebrity selections you make during sessions

  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • Session timestamps
  • Crash reports and performance data

Analytics

We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how people use Olima. PostHog collects anonymous usage data such as pages visited, features used, and device type. This data is not linked to your identity unless you create an account. We do not use cookies for analytics. You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time by contacting us at hello@olima.ai.

2. How We Use Your Information

To Provide the Service

  • Enable features like “Guess Your Friend” sharing

AI Processing

Olima uses third-party AI services (OpenAI) to generate personality insights and power chat conversations. Your session choices and chat messages are sent to these services for processing. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models. AI-generated insights are for entertainment and self-reflection only — they are not clinical assessments.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your personal data.

We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database), OpenAI (AI processing), Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics). These providers only access data necessary to perform their services.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.

Sharing Features: When you use “Challenge a Friend”, your session data (celebrity picks) is viewable by friends you share with. You control when and with whom you share.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Session data: Retained indefinitely to improve your personality profile
  • Chat messages: Retained indefinitely to provide conversation continuity
  • Deleted accounts: Data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion request

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and associated data
  • Portability: Export your data in a readable format
